"My Guardian Angel" is already the third album by Nick Miamis as Side Liner. Nick is a downtempo musician (in this tyle he create as Side Liner) and uptempo (and in this style his project is Mendark). In the context of Side Liner he's also the owner of Cosmicleaf Records - where, naturally, he is releasing his chillout music. His debut CD was released in 2006 and titled "Emotional Diving", in the next year he created "Once Upon A Time". The tradition in Cosmicleaf's album case is, that part of the tracks of particular CD are done by artistic collaboration or remixes. And so it is here as well. "My Guardian Angel" contain a particle of musical soul also of other persons from this Greek label who's released albums in it - among others Dimitris Batistatos and Emil Ilyayev (Zero Cult).

Hour-long album contain ten tracks. The first six are the rainy, sad stories. The last four compositions are more about sunshine and from them I am searching the most pleasure moments from the album. It's quite difficult to choose that one, the best, but I'll award "Far East" due to its well done aura of the flying close to the clouds. The previous albums by Side Liner had tracks with regular kick 4/4 and morning-progressive arrangment - we don't have this kind of compositions here and this is for sure a step towards good direction because that type usually don't have an appropriate depth; isn't coherent to the main course. Mainly we have here a heave through downbeat colours with emotions of expectations, hope and melancholy - and moments, when we can feel an attempt of treating in the epic way that atmosphere. Percussion and bass form strong background sound for the more subtle and ethereal sounds. However, foreground motives of Side Liner's music - I have on mind mainly its melodies - are focusing on unambiguous sounds, for better listening to it on loud speakers than on headphones.

As a result, despite everything, we have an artistic level of previous albums. Nick stayed with his typical sound. That music is not so different than from mentioned by me his first two CDs. They presented a pleasure, light, afternoon sounds - similiar situation is with "My Guardian Angel". In principle I could stay with that remark, that there is no trance compositions here and everything would be clear for interested people in this musical theme. Do you like Side Liner's music? You will like this album. You don't like Side Liner's music? You won't like this album... I think that the album is lack of new, fresh ideas. It's always a pleasure to listen to "My Guardian Angel", but it's always also listening without an ecstasy.
